Women's Leadership Forum

Leadership is our tradition. Outstanding professionalism and personal persuasiveness, the underpinnings of leadership, have been part of Greenbaum Rowe’s culture for nearly one hundred years.

The mission of the firm’s Women’s Leadership Forum is to advance women in the firm and throughout the business community at large by helping business leaders grow professionally, and sustain business success in positions of leadership. The Forum presents and sponsors a variety of educational, networking and mentoring opportunities consistent with its mission that address topics such as:

  • Leadership and management skills
  • Business development strategies
  • Work/life balance
  • Negotiation skills
  • Networking and relationship development skills
  • Effective mentoring, and
  • Time management skills

Many of our women lawyers hold leadership positions within the firm and other organizations that contribute to the advancement of women; including, the NJ Women Lawyers Association, Industrial/Commercial Real Estate Women, the Financial Women’s Association, the Women's Fund of New Jersey, and many other similar groups.

The Forum builds on the firm’s tradition of leadership and helps bring the next generation of women lawyers and women business leaders into success.

In the September 22, 2008 edition of the New Jersey Law Journal, their article on minority data among New Jersey law firms stated that Greenbaum, “where 21 of the 33 associates are women, has the greatest gender diversity among associates of all the firms [in the state].”

Greenbaum Rowe’s Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF) hosted a Business Leaders Symposium on the topic of negotiating successfully in the current difficult economy. This symposium was the first in a series of events planned to develop skills critical to business leaders, such as negotiation techniques, and to provide an opportunity for executives and professionals to cultivate business relationships through networking. This event was held for the benefit of clients and friends of the firm, such as business owners, corporate executives and other professionals.

Greenbaum Rowe’s Women’s Leadership Forum and the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association hosted this event to give members an opportunity to learn about how to navigate the judicial appointment process. Speaker Michelle Davis explained what a judge candidate must go through before an appointment, and ultimately a confirmation, may take place. Also, Hon. Jessica Mayer, a former attorney at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, attended and spoke about the experiences she had while going through the nomination process.
