Joel ClymerGreenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP is pleased to announce that Joel Clymer, a partner in the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation Departments, has been sworn in as Treasurer of the Garden State Bar Association (GSBA).   

Mr. Clymer primarily focuses his practice on employment litigation, counseling and employment-related workplace investigations. His experience encompasses discrimination and retaliation claims under federal and state employment law statutes, providing guidance on a variety of employment issues in the workplace, including accommodation requests, employee benefits, leaves of absence, workplace policies and procedures, and compliance issues, as well as prelitigation and workplace investigations to assess the validity of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower complaints.

Mr. Clymer is a member of the firm's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Team. He was honored by the National Bar Association as a 2023 “40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates” award recipient. He was selected for inclusion by the New Jersey Law Journal on the 2022 list of "New Leaders of the Bar” and by NJBIZ as a 2022 “Forty Under 40” honoree. He is listed in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch (a trademark of Woodward/White, Inc.) and in Super Lawyers – New Jersey Rising Stars (a Thomson Reuters business) in his area of practice.

The GSBA is New Jersey's oldest and largest professional organization for African-American judges, lawyers, and law students.  Since 1975, the GSBA has continuously assisted African-Americans and other ethnic minorities in becoming an effective part of the judicial and legal systems. The GSBA also seeks to advance the science of jurisprudence, improve the administration of justice, support initiatives designed to improve economic condition of all individuals, and eliminate discrimination and inequality based on racial, ethnic or sexual considerations.
