Robert S. Goldsmith, co-chair of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will lecture at the “2025 Redevelopment Law Institute,” presented by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education in cooperation with the NJSBA Land Use Law section. The program will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 9:00am – 4:15pm at the New Jersey Law Center and will also be available for online viewing.
Bob will moderate a panel discussion addressing area in need designation criteria, including developments in the law that focus on what constitutes substantial evidence in support of that designation. Other panels will focus on the impact of changes in the capital markets on redevelopment projects; legal and regulatory development to consider when redevelopment projects include affordable housing; the impact of proposed resilient environments and landscapes (NJ PACT) regulations on redevelopment; and issues to expect if a redevelopment project includes industrial development.
The annual Redevelopment Law Institute brings together attorneys, planners, government officials, and other professionals who are involved in redevelopment projects. For private and public sector professionals whose work focuses on redevelopment, this advanced-level event affords an opportunity to delve more deeply into some unique issues being addressed in the context of redevelopment projects.
Bob’s practice focuses on redevelopment, downtown and urban revitalization, transit-oriented development, project financing and incentives, sustainable building initiatives and public-private partnerships. His experience also encompasses counseling clients on specialized issues in redevelopment related to parking demand, design and construction.
