Matthew J. Schiller, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department, will participate as a panelist at “A Lawyer’s Guide to New Jersey Residential Real Estate Closings,” to be held on November 19, 2015 from 3:00pm – 6:30pm at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
This comprehensive program will cover a broad range of topics related to residential real estate practice. Mr. Schiller and co-presenter Heather Suarez (Walder Hayden PA) will provide an overview of the entire sale transaction, from contract through closing, including proven strategies for avoiding common mistakes, overcoming problem situations, and effectively and efficiently handling residential real estate transactions. The seminar will address the contract of sale, preparation for closing, documentation from buyer/seller, title and mortgage closings, and post-closing procedures.
Mr. Schiller concentrates his practice in commercial real estate law. His transactional experience includes the acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of office, retail and industrial properties. He represents special servicers in connection with loan workouts and modifications, foreclosures, REO sales and loan sales. His practice includes seeking municipal and state land use approvals for commercial and residential developments. Mr. Schiller has considerable real estate litigation experience representing lenders, developers, and property owners in connection with foreclosure actions, landlord-tenant disputes, prerogative writ actions, and breach of contract matters. He also represents commercial and residential property owners and tenants in property tax appeals
