Meryl A.G. Gonchar, Co-Chair of the firm’s Redevelopment & Land Use Department, will be a speaker at the program “An Introduction to New Jersey Land Use Practice.”  The seminar is being hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and will be held at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick on June 15, 2016 from 9:00am – 4:00pm.

Ms. Gonchar's practice encompasses all aspects of land use, zoning and related litigation.  She represents property owners and developers in appearances before planning and zoning boards throughout the state, in connection with obtaining land use approvals and permits for residential, retail, office, industrial and mixed use projects. She also represents clients in land use, condemnation and related litigation before the Superior Court of New Jersey, including prerogative writ litigation. Ms. Gonchar’s diversified experience enables her to provide clients with continuity throughout the often long and complicated land development process. She assists clients throughout the entire life cycle of a development project; due diligence, acquisition, approvals and permitting, financing, leasing and/or sale.   

Ms. Gonchar is a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and an active member of New Jersey’s commercial real estate and legal communities. She is a past chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Land Use Law Section’s Board of Trustees, and a member of the American and Middlesex County Bar Associations, serving as an MCBA Trustee. She serves on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Builders Association where she is Chair of the Master Sponsor Program. She is a Trustee of the NAIOP NJ Chapter and a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (past president of the CREW-NJ chapter). Ms. Gonchar was appointed to the founding Advisory Board of the Center for Real Estate at Rutgers Business School and serves on the Program Advisory Committee of Monmouth University’s Kislak Real Estate Institute, where she teaches a course on real estate law.
