Emerging Issues in Environmental Insurance
On December 3, 2012, Ann M. Waeger, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department, will join the faculty of a New York State Bar Association seminar on “Emerging Issues in Environmental Insurance” in Manhattan.
A 90-minute presentation titled “Case Law Overview/Lessons Learned: Claims Handling to Maximize Available Environmental Coverage and Minimize Disputes with Carriers,” presented by Ms. Waeger and fellow panelists Daniele Cervino, (Golub & Isabel, PC.) and John G. Nevious (Anderson Kill & Olick, PC), will explore a variety of key techniques and strategies to provide insights into environmental insurance policies and the acquisition and claims process. The panel will address recent developments and lessons learned from case law and strategies for managing and avoiding claims-related issues. Ms. Waeger’s practice includes a strong focus on environmental issues in real estate and business transactions and the use of environmental insurance as a risk management tool. She also concentrates in the purchase, sale and leasing of industrial and commercial real estate, the formation of business entities and the financing of industrial and commercial real property and business assets. Her clients include leading real estate developers, property and business owners, landlords, tenants, manufacturers and REITS.
