Steven G. Mlenak, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Redevelopment & Land Use Departments, will be a presenter in the Community Associations Institute New Jersey Chapter’s Wednesday Webinars, a series of weekly virtual presentations addressing important issues impacting common interest communities. Mr. Mlenak will present “Don’t Sign the Proposal!” on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, a session that will focus on the reasons why analyzing contracts and carefully negotiating key provisions with third-party vendors are the key to preventing association nightmares down the road. The webinar begins at 12:00pm and will also be recorded and archived on CAI-NJ’s website.
Mr. Mlenak is a member of the firm’s Community Association Practice Group, where he maintains a strong focus in the niche area of community association law, providing strategic guidance and general counseling to condominium and homeowners association clients across a broad range of legal issues. His work encompasses the interpretation and amendment of governing documents and by-laws, drafting contracts, collection of delinquent assessments, the enforcement of rules and regulations, operational and maintenance issues, the fiduciary responsibilities of board members, transition negotiations and litigation, Municipal Services Act compliance, and alternative dispute resolution. An active member of CAI-NJ, Mr. Mlenak currently serves as Vice Chair of the Membership Committee. He was recognized with CAI-NJ’s "2016 Speaker of the Year" award and was a shared recipient of the "2014 Committee of the Year" award for his work as a member of CAI-NJ’s National Legislative Action Committee – NJ.
