John W. Kaveney, a partner in the firm’s Healthcare Department, will be on the faculty for the webinar “Involuntary Commitments: Much Has Changed in a Year” on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. The presentation will be hosted by the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA).
This webinar will examine changes to the New Jersey Involuntary Commitment Law, which provides hospitals with a new process to request a continued hold of a patient in need of involuntary commitment when a bed at an appropriate psychiatric facility cannot be obtained in a timely manner. The speakers will review the impact this new process has had on the overall involuntary commitment process, discuss the challenges hospitals have faced when utilizing this new process, and highlight solutions to complying with the new law.
