Jessica A. Flynn, Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, will be a panelist for the symposium “RBG & The #MeToo Movement,” to be presented on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4:30pm – 8:15pm at The Pines Major in Edison. The program is being co-sponsored by the Middlesex County Bar Association Women Lawyers’ Section (WLS), the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association (NJWLA) and the NJ State Bar Association’s Women in the Profession Section (WIPS).
This dynamic, interactive dinner program will discuss the era of the #MeToo Movement, and will include a viewing of the groundbreaking documentary “RBG” following an introduction by former NJ Supreme Court Associate Justice Helen Hoens.
Panelists will address the following issues:
- Landscape before the #MeToo Movement
- Sexual assault victims and the origins of the #MeToo Movement
- Impact of the #MeToo Movement on prevention and remedial measures, as well as on ethical measures in the practice of law
- Impact of #MeToo on State and Federal law
- Societal effects of the #MeToo Movement
- Future of #MeToo and #TimesUp
Ms. Flynn serves on the steering committee of the firm’s Women’s Leadership Forum. Her practice focus is commercial litigation. She represents financial institutions in disputes involving various types of financial products, individual and commercial account relationships, and lending and mortgage transactions. She has also handled construction defect cases and employment discrimination actions. Ms. Flynn's experience also encompasses the representation of numerous community associations in disputes with unit owners and collection matters, in civil and foreclosure actions, and as counsel on debt collection strategies and bidding strategies at sheriff’s sales.
