Matthew J. Schiller, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Redevelopment & Land Use Departments, will speak on a panel at the 10th Annual Meadowlands Conference, which will be presented by the Northeast New Jersey Chapter of the Appraisal Institute on May 11, 2016 at The Teaneck Marriott Glenpointe.
Mr. Schiller’s presentation, “Representing Clients in 21st Century Real Estate Transactions,” will focus on the legal challenges associated with e-commerce growth and their impact on real estate transactions and the appraisal process. Topics will include security deposits, events of default, lease options, new retail supply chain models and NJ property records. The presentation will include “lessons learned” from Mr. Schiller’s transactional experience, including loan workouts and land use approvals for commercial and residential properties.
Mr. Schiller concentrates his practice in commercial real estate law. His transactional experience includes the acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of office, retail and industrial properties. He also represents special servicers in connection with loan workouts and modifications, foreclosures, REO sales and loan sales. In addition, Mr. Schiller’s practice includes seeking municipal and state land use approvals for commercial and residential developments.
