On Wednesday, February 22, 2012 our partner Raymond M. Brown will participate in a panel discussion titled “The Dark Side of U.S. Justice,” which was presented by the Seton Hall University School of Law’s Hall Institute Forum on Prosecutorial Misconduct.
Mr. Brown will be joined on the panel by U.S. Attorney, District Court of New Jersey Paul A. Fishman; Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray, and Harvey Weissbard, former Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division and currently Of Counsel at Genova, Burns & Giantomasi. The program will be moderated by Paula Franzese, the University’s Peter W. Rodino Professor of Law and one of the country's leading experts in government ethics.
The panel of distinguished legal scholars will engage in a timely discussion of how to address the growing number of prosecutorial abuses and instances of misconduct that have generated media headlines and resulted in severe miscarriages of justice.
Mr. Brown is a partner in our Litigation Department and is Chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense & Corporate and International Human Rights Compliance Practice Group. He has appeared in courts in 12 states and conducted investigations throughout the US as well as in Kenya, El Salvador, the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Colombia, and Sierra Leone.
