Robert S. Goldsmith, Chair of the firm’s Redevelopment Practice Group, led an interactive session on “Urban Revitalization and Redevelopment” at the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers (NAIFA) 2012 Fall Conference in Secaucus, New Jersey. The October 17 program examined issues in urban renewal that affect appraising professionals, including the benefits and challenges of redevelopment, municipal support and partnerships, incentives, aging infrastructure, eminent domain, density, mixed-use developments, parking structures, and the coordination of redevelopment programs in designated special improvement districts.

Mr. Goldsmith is a partner in Greenbaum’s Real Estate Department. His practice focuses on redevelopment, transit oriented development, downtown revitalization, green building and public-private partnerships. He also has broad experience in complex commercial litigation, construction litigation and appellate work. Since 1983, Mr. Goldsmith has served as counsel to the Morristown Parking Authority, and has played a key advising role in numerous high profile downtown redevelopment projects in that capacity. He has served as special redevelopment counsel to numerous municipalities throughout New Jersey, and has written and lectured extensively on topics related to his area of legal practice.
