Barry S. Goodman was re-elected to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Hunterdon Healthcare System, the parent organization of the Hunterdon Medical Center. Mr. Goodman has served on the Board since 2003. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at the Medical Center and is the Chair of its Needs Committee and a member of its Quality Committee and Capital Campaign Committee.
Mr. Goodman is the Chair of the Real Estate Brokerage Practice Group and serves as General Counsel to the New Jersey Association of REALTORS®. In addition, Mr. Goodman is a noted litigator whose work has resulted in precedent setting case decisions. For example, in 2007, he prevailed before the N.J. Supreme Court in CBTR v. Twin Rivers Homeowners’ Association (2007), where the court held that homeowners’ associations’ policies regarding expressional activities will be upheld if they are reasonable but may be subject to constitutional scrutiny if they are unreasonable.
Mr. Goodman concentrates his practice in real estate and real estate brokerage issues, as well as antitrust suits, corporate shareholders’ and partnership disputes and municipal law. He is a frequent lecturer and author on legal issues for REALTORS®. He serves as General Counsel for and is past president of the United Way of Hunterdon County. Mr. Goodman is a former trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey and former chair of the Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Fund of the Bar of New Jersey. He is the recipient of the 2006 Rutgers University Alumni Meritorious Service Award and a past president of the Rutgers-Newark Law School Alumni Association.
