The New Jersey State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting and Convention took place on May 13-15, 2015 at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City. A number of attorneys from Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis were on hand to participate in various CLE program offerings.
Raymond M. Brown spoke at the program “Marketing and Ethics 2015: Maximizing Results While Avoiding Liability,” an up-to-the-minute review of ethics rules, cases and procedures pertaining to attorney advertising. Mr. Brown is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Andrea J. Sullivan spoke on the panel “Receiverships and Other Court Appointed Agents – No Good Deed Goes Unpunished,” presented by the Equity Jurisprudence Committee, of which she is a former vice chair. Ms. Sullivan is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Glenn Berman spoke at a seminar for litigators on “Getting to ‘Yes’ in Mediation – and Staying There!” Judge Berman, Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, is a member of Bar’s Family Law Executive Committee, Equity Jurisprudence Committee, Amicus Committee, Business Law Section and Labor & Employment Section.
Emily A. Kaller served as a moderator/speaker for “The Intersection of Gender and Race: A Program to Explore Gender and Racial Bias in the Law,” and “Women Who Have Smashed the Glass Ceiling – A Can’t Miss Program to Help You Get Your Clients and Yourselves to the Pinnacle of Success, Taught By Women Who Did It.” Ms. Kaller is a past chair of the Bar’s Women in the Profession Section, which co-presented these sessions. She also participated on the panel “Family Law Matters Involving LGBT Litigants – Promoting Fairness in the Law.” Ms. Kaller is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and chair of the firm’s Women’s Leadership Forum.
Matthew J. Schiller was a speaker at “Real Estate Transactions from A to Z,” which explored the many moving parts of this rapidly-changing practice area. Mr. Schiller, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department, serves on the Bar’s Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section Board of Consultors.
Stephanie G. Reckord served as moderator for “Human Trafficking,” sponsored by the Criminal Law Section and the Women in the Profession Section, of which Ms. Reckord was recently installed as Chair. Joining Ms. Reckord on the panel was Raymond M. Brown, chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Corporate & International Human Rights Compliance Practice Groups. He is also a member of the Bar’s Criminal Law Section. Ms. Reckord also moderated the panel “Recent Developments Affecting Women in the Workplace,” at which panelists provided an overview of laws impacting topics such as equal pay, pregnancy discrimination and domestic violence leave.
