Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP announces that John D. North, partner of the firm in its Litigation Department, has been named Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). He was also recently named a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

North concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, construction litigation, and in professional liability and negligence matters. He has tried over 65 jury cases to verdict, including significant cases in the fields of banking, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, products liability, and construction.

In addition to his focus on defensive litigation, he maintains a personal injury practice limited to cases involving significant injuries and complex liability issues. In 2006, he obtained the largest personal injury verdict in New Jersey, a $26.2 million verdict in a products liability “crashworthiness” case.

North is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and an associate member of the American Association for Justice. He has been named as a “Super Lawyer” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine in the Civil Litigation Defense category.

He is an active member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and the Middlesex County and New Jersey State Bar Associations. North attended Lehigh University for his undergraduate degree and received his law degree from the University of Maryland. North has been a certified civil trial attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court since 1988 and is admitted to practice in New Jersey, before the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.

LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society whose purpose is to recognize deserving, experienced, and highly qualified lawyers, to provide an additional outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on the trial and litigation practice, to offer additional sources for professional development, to promote superior advocacy and ethical standards in the practice of law, and to assist in community involvement by its membership. LCA membership is selective, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers who are admitted by invite only.

The Million Dollar Advocates’ Forum is regarded as the most prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards, and settlements. Fewer than 1% of U.S. attorneys are members.
